1911 mags question

by stonewalrus, Thursday, December 20, 2012, 20:24 (4302 days ago)

Son has an ATI shorty 1911 which isbasically an Officers model in size.Got him a Wilson mag. Are there any reasonably reliable magazines for practice that won't break the bank (already spending a fortune on high caps for other guns).

basic Metalform mags work well. At one time you could pick them up cheaply from outfits like CDNN; that particular outlet is so busy they've suspended online ordering.

Also CMC Power Mags

Brownells seems to have plenty in stock, offer a decent C&R-holder discount, and ship quickly.

CMC Power Mags are all I use these days.

My son is a little shy on CMC - only one he bought fell apart before he got through a box of shells. They were good on replacing it but had to pay to ship the junk one back on our dime.

that too bad, I have used dozens of em with great function
