Yeah but Israel had a physical target. Ours are the deep psychological scars that come from a dystopian, collapsing culture.

There is evil in this world and it wants us to know it is

here. It exhibits in such people who are weakened by drugs, permissive society, a lack of moral guidance/example and selfish arrogance. Some of these evil doers are identifiable only because they commit horrific acts which must be immediately and broadly reported. But some wear at our society with a sort of constant gnawing and the pillars supporting what was once a just and upright society.

Rapid Mass Murder - more easily quantifiable and qualifiable data is available now. There are plenty of personality traits that the particular villains share. The question becomes how invasive "we" want the all-seeing to become in order to stop evil acts.

There are obvious answers, but they are tethered to troubling questions which are lost on those screaming rhetorical demands to "open the discussion", without realizing whom they are inviting over for dinner.

WHO HAS BEEN STOPPING THE ACTIVE KILLER, AND HOW?

Before investing in any theory or propaganda, enlightened administrators and trainers should exclusively examine only successful aborts. “Stopping the killing” only occurs in slightly over half of “Rapid Mass Murder”© incidents. Significant, documented, verifiable, and repeatable research has identified what strategies and tactics work in stopping the killing. In summary, they are:

1. Citizens, mostly unarmed, perform two thirds of all “Rapid Mass Murder”© aborts.

2. In citizen aborts, initiation by a single citizen stops the killing eight out of ten times. (Too Vague we KNOW that several of these have been stopped by Armed citizens including the one my wife was at RL)

3. Law enforcement performs one third of all “Rapid Mass Murder”© aborts.

4. In law enforcement aborts, initiation by a single officer stops the killing seven out of 10 times.

Where do RMMs occur?

38% Schools, (Pre-school and K-12)

17% Colleges and Universities

10% Church/Religious facility

8% Restaurant/Coffee House

6% Mall/Shopping Center

4% Hospital/Nursing Home

3% Military Base/Facility, tied with Bus Stop/Train

Started getting in a p.....g contest with my minister on Facebook. He's a left leaning anti-gun type going off on this whole thing. He wasn't around but back about '86 or so, a mad Chinaman (literally) burst into one of our local churches and opened fire with a couple of .44 mags and a 9mm. He killed one good man and wounded a couple more before being chased from the sanctuary by unarmed members of the congregation...one of whom dropped him with a well thrown hymnal, to capture him and hold him for the police. No sheep mentality there. I can't understand how we can deny people the ability to defend themselves!

Unless one has read LTC Grossman's books "On Killing" and "Combat" they probably do not truely grasp the impact that lethal interperson violence has on people and just what is involved in moving one from function to the crazed position of mass murderer.

Armed combat through WWII clearly showed that only 20% of troops would shoot at the enemy...they just could not bring themselves to do it...

Study in force multiplyers showed that shifting training from shooting at bulleyes across a grassy field to realistic "practical" shooting changed the head space of our troops to the point that in Korea 50% would shoot, in Viet Nam 75% would shoot and presently ALMOST ALL American troops will shoot without hesitation if given just a chance....

This is due to a shift in training from marksmanship to killing...this presently PREFECTED through the high tech "1st person shooter" video games...

The solution here is to stop the training of childen to be mass murderers through violent 1st person video games and to protect the population from psycos by putting them on the other side of a tall fence....

I hold the same opinion. Add in Hollywood's contribution

and the stage is perfectly set.

Also the reason why I was disgusted at the firearm industry embracing the concept of zombies and offering "zombie" ammo and gear. Blurs the line.

As a soldier so trained, I think you're right. The ARMY

knows you're right, it is so written in their doctrinal publications. And, although S.L.A. Marshall has been discredited on some things, his reports were instrumental in moving training in that direction.

saying the same thing and being very emphatic about the interactive games with the controllers that so closely simulate actual shooting.

I imagine some people here used the old F.A.T.S. system which is now, I suppose, surpassed in realism by the new computer animated video games.

As a general rule, we've prohibited such games in our house, but this is making me take a closer look at some we've allowed.

Is there a prescription drug connection?

by Bj2, Saturday, December 15, 2012, 11:56 (4343 days ago) @ Rob Leahy

I've read suggestions that there are statistics that show these kinds of things are done by people on prescription drugs for things like anti depression, drugs that have warnings right on the bottle.

All school shooters.....

by Byron, Saturday, December 15, 2012, 17:51 (4343 days ago) @ Bj2

Have a number of things in common.

1. Long history of mental illness.

2. Addiction to first person shooter games.

3. Use of psycotrophic medication.

All........

We are manufacturing them....

by Otony, Saturday, December 15, 2012, 19:55 (4343 days ago) @ Byron

....on a regular basis. I have felt this way about shooter video games for years. We will not allow them in our house or for our children, ever. Toss in the drugs and it seems like fait accompli.

Thank you Byron, for your input on this.

All you can do is be ready and in the case of mass killers, the definition of 'ready' must include 'armed'. The mass-murderer controls the OODA cycle throughout the event, until some Ready Freddie pops up like a prairie dog and starts hosing them down.

Their Plan of Mass Destruction rarely includes a contingency for one of their victims shooting their ass off- and when it does, that plan almost invariably includes suicide. Self cleaning oven, made more efficient by an armed populace.
