I have always sized new brass when I buy it. Am I wasting my time? I know it depends on a lot of things brand etc. I usually buy Winchester or Starline. I'm mainly talking about pistol brass. I always trim my rifle brass new or old. What does everyone else do? Thanks.

YES and I also work the primer pockts. I always have a big pile of brass shavings after working new brass.

I have never scrounged and new brass at the range.

If there are no visable dents on the new unfired pistol brass, I chamfer, expand the neck and load. I have never been bit yet with this practice, but I suppose that could happen.

With new rifle brass I always resize as most of the necks are out of round to one degree on another.

Yep. I do the full process on new brass (size, trim, deburr, etc.) to make certain it is uniform and, in the case of autopistol brass, good and tight on the bullet. After the first loading, I don't do nothin' except clean it, size it, and load it.

Rifle brass is a different story. I tinker with that stuff every time around.
