I'm on my way to look at a couple Ruger pistolas
#1. Old Model Single Six with a 6 1/2" barrel and fixed sights. Not converted, but maybe wearing Pachmayr grips. Not beaten to death, but has bluing wear. It also includes a holster of some kind.
#2. New Model Blackhawk, 45 Colt with a 7 1/2" barrel. This one has Pachmayr grips, and again some bluing wear. I think this one also has a holster and some ammo but I don't know how much. I don't think either one has the box or extra cylinders with it. Asking price for the pair is about $425.00 which sounds reasonable enough to me.
Sounds like a good price to me, always two good choices

Jump on them!
They're both nice guns.
#1. Old Model Single Six with a 6 1/2" barrel and fixed sights. Not converted, but maybe wearing Pachmayr grips. Not beaten to death, but has bluing wear. It also includes a holster of some kind. Okay, this gun is all original, even including the original grips. The only drawback to this one is that it sat in its Bianchi #1 Small SA holster for about 20 years and that caused some pitting on the side of the cylinder and receiver. It is still a nice looking revolver and one that I will be carrying and shooting.
#2. New Model Blackhawk, 45 Colt with a 7 1/2" barrel. This one has Pachmayr grips, and again some bluing wear. I think this one also has a holster and some ammo but I don't know how much. This one turned out to be a transitional model gun, since it has the OM style cylinder and an older style gripframe in it. The gripframe is stamped NXR3-RED. I have a pair of factory grips to go with this gun that I bought from Doc O'Meara a few years ago, so it's already back to original. This one also came with a plain but nice Lawrence 1C 601 holster and 3 1/2 boxes of factory ammo.
I'm happy with this deal. Sunday has historically been a good day for me for buying guns.
THIEF!.......
Good grab!
Tell us more . . .
. . . about the Single-Six.
Marked ".22 CAL." or "WIN. .22 RF MAG. Cal." on the left side of the frame?
XR3 or XR3RED grip frame?
Heckuva price for the pair. Good score.
Merry Christmas
Thats a steal at that price
This is abiout twice what Ray likes to pay...I think he has
gotten soft in is old age...At the Palmer & Wasilla Gun Shows he usually left the dealers weeping and wondering what just happened, when Ray is done with a trade.

The Single Six says 22 cal on the side of the frame, and the serial number is 397xxx. The gripframe is an XR3-RED. It has fixed sights.
how true! : )
An RSSMX . . .
. . . from 1964. Sorta scarce in that barrel length, at that time.
Superb old gun. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine.
From 1964? It's a birthday year gun for me!
I intend to enjoy it! It should be a nice shooter!
Well, congrats!
My very first Ruger was a shiny new 5-1/2" version of your gun, received for Christmas in 1962. It continues to serve me well as one of my favorites.
