44 Special

I have tried my best, honest I have, over the years to have the same fondness for 44 Specials that most folks seem to have. But after a dozen or so handguns in that caliber, I still don't get it. Here is the only one that has stuck around in my safe. A 2nd. Model HE, circa 1933, that have been over the bench at Micro. Front sight, rear sight, checkered trigger, enlarged and checkered hammer and checkered backstrap. Shoots very well with my powder puff load of 240 Keith over 5/Bullseye. I spotted it in the bottom shelf at Nagles in San Antonio and it went out the door with me for $220 about 10 years ago. [image]

Well, dear brother,

Send it my way and I'll give you your money back so you won't have to keep that useless piece of buggered up ordnance around. :-D

About 15 years ago, I sold about 20 handguns down river and gave another 10 or so to my kids. I kept the really nice ones to keep me company in my old age. I have not counted them up, but there are still plenty of them, but none are for sale. I picked up some very nice vintage handguns when they were still affordable. I have never had lots of folding money in my jeans, but pawn shops, gunshops and law-a-way plans have been my friends over the years.

I figured such was the case, but

couldn't help offering to take it off your hands. :) Of course, you could always have it rebuilt into a 45 ACP! ;-)
