sighting in distance for CT laser?
Just won a CT grip laser for my M&P Compact 9 on fleabay (1/2 price basically). What's a good distance to sight the laser in?
sighting in distance for CT laser?
If the beam is anywhere close to the bore line, it won't matter much at handgun distances. What's the longest distance you're likely to have to shoot with it? 20 yards? Zero at that and you are good.
For what the laser is used for, I'd zero at 10-15 yards.

I zero mine at 25 yards...
...mostly because that's the way the firing line is laid-out at Gunblast World Headquarters. Closer-in still works fine.
thanks - that was my concern with the laser being offset
From the bore was close in vs a bit further out. It's your brother's fault - he keeps saying he has lasers on all his carry guns. This is the second for me. I have one on my LCP.
He has firmly converted me as well...
...I always have a Crimson Trace-equipped LCP with me, even when I am carrying something else; and that something else usually has a Crimson Trace laser as well.
sighting in distance for CT laser?
I usually sight my gun in without the laser, at whatever distance I am going to use the gun (usually 10-15 yards for ccw/self defense). I then adjust the laser to the sights at that distance and am always good to go.
Boge and Jeff converted me over the laser-sighted self-defense guns also. I put a CT laser on my LCP, that is in my front pocket 99% of the time. I also put them on my two bob-tailed 1911s that are my daily carry guns, as well as my Sig 239 that is my sometimes carry gun when I want something a little lighter and smaller (ie in the summer time).

The sights are pretty well dead on
I figured I'd start by lining it up with the sights.
