Reading the various histories the series was fairly accurate

One site I was browsing had many photos of the participants and the area where these events occurred. One photo showed a 4 3/4 inch Bisley Single Action which was said to have belonged to Anderson (Devil Anse) Hatfield. No details as to whether or not it was actually used during the feud.

The well-known photo of the Hatfield clan at their logging cabin shows what appear to be Colt and S&W revolvers and Winchester lever actions. Given the time period of the "hot" part of the feud (1878-1890), that makes sense, but as Hobie opines, anything made from the Civil War through the 1880s may have been used. The Hatfields were apparently well off and could afford the latest firearms available. Others, probably not so much.
