I've installed a SAV-1 trigger (reply)

Hi.

I put a Rifle Basix SAV-1 trigger in a Savage model 10 in .22-250 that belongs to my dad. This was a low-end rifle with the molded plastic stock, and it was early enough (or low-end enough) that it lacked the Accu-Trigger. The trigger it had was a real piece of work. I tried to adjust it, but it had two settings: 1) Use-two-fingers stiff, or 2) Fire when you take the safety off.

The SAV-1 was easy to install, came complete with all required parts, and performed exactly as advertised. Within an hour I had it installed and adjusted to a nice light, crisp pull. I abused the rifle by way of testing in all manner of ways--bouncing the buttstock off the floor and so on--but I couldn't get the rifle to drop the firing pin unintentionally no matter what I did.

So I thoroughly recommend the SAV-1.

I've got a barrel for the .300 BLK waiting for a good action to get screwed onto. We didn't have any great deals on black Friday. Dicks' normoal price is $330 and they hand them on sale for $300 with a cheap scope. I passed hoping to eventually find a better deal. I e heard the Ricle Basix has a good replacement for the non-Accutrigger. Not sure if it's cheaper than the timney or not.
