The media knows very well, that it's pretty easy to overload the public with too many different issues. The publics collective eyes will glaze over, and they'll quit paying attention to the issues. Look at all the pablum on the news sites. More people are concerned about Paris Hiltons latest shoe purchase than they are about the issues at hand. Too many people (who vote) simply cannot think past this moment. They shrug their shoulders and don't worry about the future.
