Hobie, the .38 S&W cartridge can be loaded using 9mm dies and a .38 Special shell holder. Did it for years before I found some proper dies. 158 grain cast SWC over 3.2 grains of Unique shoots great in my Enfield, but I did have to shave just a bit off the front sight to correct elevation. It's a warm load but the Enfield seems to have no trouble with it.

Yeah, I found the calibre selection curious. (reply)

And, the price point ridiculous. Hornady had a run a while back on the .455 Mk II so they have the tooling/capability (or did they outsource it?). There isn't much reason they couldn't resurrect it historically accurate.

And, because others did it, here's my Enfield "Tanker"

I have loaded quite a bit of the correct ammunition for the gun but it shoots very close to the sights with the standard U.S. loading.

A .45 AR, .44 Special (or Russian), .45 ACP, etc, more (reply)

appropriate for the American customer AND for the gun. I've got to say, that while the .38 Special gets a fair share of business (but less than some semi-auto pistol rounds), the .357 Mag seems moribund in ammo sales, relatively speaking. SMALL revolvers are a big thing but for the general pubic it seems that K and L frame size guns are NOT a big interest. Too big to carry, too heavy, and on and on. It seems to me that most of my customers are small pistol (9mm, .380 ACP, .40 S&W, .45 ACP, in that order) or SMALL revolver. And they choose a revolver most often because they can't physically operate the pistol (due to limits on physical strength, arthritis, or some other concern).
