Ruger recognized my great despair and to help ease the pain they've cut the new one for moon clips to handle the acp also. I have one ordered and am very impatiently waiting for it to arrive!

RUGGED DOUBLE ACTION .45 THAT IS A GRAND CANDIDATE FOR THE TITLE OF P.P.P. JUST GOT THE LATEST ONE THAT FIRES BOTH .45 COLT AND .45 ACP (WITH CLIPS) FROM THE SAME CYLINDER AND PERHAPS .460 ROWLAND AND .45 WINMAG. THE OLDER SMITHS MAY BE THOROUGHBREDS BUT THIS IS A CLYDESDALE.

And I like that .45 Colt. I think that is a great vehicle for the cartridge, or you could say that cartridge is fitting for the big RH.

Many years ago you wrote a piece on the .45 Colt in the Ruger Redhawk, and I have wanted one ever since, specifically in a 4". I have never had the planets align properly to where I could find one at the same time that I had the money.....until this spring. Shortly after I bought it, I commissioned Simply Rugged to make a holster for it, and it fits like a glove. For the last few months, my situation has been such that I haven't gotten in any range time (I've been on the road). Well, I got home yesterday. Tomorrow morning I will hit the range with this puppy and we'll see just what it is capable of!
