Frank, call off the search, decoded to take your suggestion and buy a folding rear from Brownells and just shim it in place. As simple as I am, I shoulda thought of the simple solution!

My carbine has had a Marbles tang sight in place for many years, at first I replaced the factory rear sight with a much more nicely made Marbles(?) with an over size dovetail that Brownells no longer stocks, but I can't use it with the tang peep.
My goal is to somehow cobble together a folding rear sight so I can keep the tang peep sighted for the 180gr hog killer load and use the folding barrel sight for 148gr wadcutters for grouse and the like.
And it might could be I'm just 'whistlin' in the wind' again!

upgrades and sells Rossi's has replacement sights available..can't get his name to come up on the mental screen, but will take a cyber-gander and see if...as you might, also.

I removed mine and ended up shimming a new Buckhorn style sight w/ a piece of a brass sheet.

an original rear sight for the old version of the Rossi '92? The dovetail is just a tick bigger,.390+, than the standard .375" and standard rear sights will not fit. Am looking for one or two.
