If you can scrape up the $375-$530 average cost, with upper end price of stainless/micarta/nickel silver, in the 2-4 mths a dealer will inform ETA, I recommend old Wayne Buxton, long time and old time dealer who will call when ships and call later to check on arrival and also to make sure you are happy with knife received...

You can buy from a dealer such as Buxton or Clinton who charge only catalog price and no premium.

Base models with classic leather start at $375. Micarta "full tang" such as posted are $385. Stainless, nickel silver guard etc add up. But $50 down to dealer gets knife on way and arrives in 6-12 wks generally.

Or can go through shop direct for same money down and put $2 wk in jar, and 4 yrs later when knife ready, you have money there.

They only get more expensive and never cheaper year to year. I do not advise delay if you truly want one. Down payment to shop locks in current price.

With nothing for scale looks like a #15 or Buxton. Had to go by double stitch line sheath to make #14 call. As an fyi the Buxton @ 6.5" is 1" shorter than #14, and 1" longer than #15.
The perfect tweener as the #15 is not as deep in ricasso and blade as a #14 and Buxton.

Minus bolts but about 10 square inches of modern epoxy bonding rough clean micarta to rough clean steel. Doubt anyone can find photo anywhere on net of their glued handle coming loose and can find maybe one unsubstantiated claim.
I like the old canopy breaker pommel. It has its uses. Photo is circa 63 with new #18 with a white crutch tip cap, micarta little Astro, two #14s and a #15 Airman, one might be black bolted micarta and others green tenite. The Buxton splits the difference but maintains #14 full depth while balancing like a fighter.

Always looks chunkier than it is unless photo angled to distort everything else. Best general purpose combat knife they ever made but only might break 1000 made this year after 20 yrs since knife not in catalog and so unknown to most. Hacker as a #14 but carries like an Astro or Jet Pilot knife.
