had to consolidate everything because it was here there and everywhere. More than 19 quarts of knives, a big bin of holsters, a couple of parts (and, Williams Foolproof sights), loading "stuff" for the musket, Garand clips, and so forth. I don't think it ever ends. If I die before my wife it will take the gun shop guys a work week to sort through it all.

Then you buy a new one once you think it's lost which is when you find the old one. Then I end up with whatever the old one was, got a nice leatherman tool and several knives that way.

Granted you guys have way more gun parts than I do but I complied all gun related items into a couple boxes and put everything with like items. Holsters with holsters, grips with grips, etc... That being said I have 6 holsters for my g27 and no clue where 4 of them are, I'm thinking in one of dad's range bags.

I lost a government 380 and a beeman P1 for 3 years finally found it right where my wife hid it. OH Honey is this case important? I hid it in my shoe closet a long time ago when we were having company.

I lost the bolt to my Ruger 308 back in the 80's, found it 5 years later. Same for my 1917 Enfield, and I bought another one just before I found both bolts.

You probably did it because you were being smart. That makes perfect sense to me. "Put the part for the .44 in the other .44 box, commonality and all, that's how I'll remember where it is." You were being smart.

Problem is when it comes to finding tthings, I'm never as smart finding them as I was when I put them wherever.

Just knew I had a spare loading gate and gate screw for Marlin 1894 .44 Magnum but couldn't find it. Found it this evening. Only one being in the universe knows why I put those things in the box with my 4-5/8" .44 Spec FT.
