Squaring up the rear of the slide works pretty well. The AMT Backup I used to have was that way. I think Jim Cirillo pushed that technique. I did put a laser on my LCP which helps too.

I hit OK with mine... (reply)

by just shoving the slide up front of the the target and pulling trigger straight back, all at once. This works OK in good light or just enough light to confirm that the slide is square on to whatever you're shooting at. At least that's how I adapted to the machine and it gets me quick, sure hits to about 25 yards.

My LCP has been 100% reliable. It is the easiest carrying semi-serious pocket gun I've ever tried and it's even fairly accurate. But its sights are indeed pitiful. I don't have much money in mine and I'm seriously considering filing the front sight off, center-drilling the slide and tapping it for the smallest tritium shotgun sight I can find. Something along these lines, but with headlights-

Agreed! (reply)

A pistol has that square corner that doesn't feel as comfortable in AIWB carry. The grip on the revolver naturally follows the contour of the waistline when you sit and lacks the obtrusive back-of-slide corner. I've almost fully convinced myself that a 4" .357 is my first line of defense if I need a handgun for serious work. It was good enough for Jordan, Skeeter and a host of others who's lives depended on a serious gun. I've never wanted to carry a backup but lately I've thought it might be a good idea so this 938 gets the nod. There are times it's my only carry gun but if I felt I was definitely going into harm's way I'm going first with a .357.

It is smaller than my M&P compact - completely covers it (reply)

The thing that kills that size auto for me is that hunk sticking out past the Smiths hammer. I've had a handful of 'pocket' nines and while the fit in the same size box As a J frame and are as thin or thinner, they just don't pocket carry well for me. A buddy had a Glock 36, but sold of because it was the same size as his G19. Less power, yes, but more than double the capacity more than makes up for it! I figure if I'm going to put a gun in a belt holster, for serious social use, I'm going with a full or at least mid sized gun that carries as many bullets as possible! No spray and pray for me, but it seems like these days, groups of bad guys are more the norm.

I've said this before but... (reply)

It bears repeating...If Glock would ever come out with a mid and full sized .45 in single stack and as thin as the G36, I'd go pick up one of each right now and keep them for life. I like the 36 a lot but prefer a bit longer barrel and a little more capacity than the 36 and XDs. I just can't shoot the double stack 45 Glocks well but the guns are excellent if a bit on the homely side.

I started to buy one... (reply)

Still might, but with a Sig P938 I really don't need another small gun. However, I really like the little XDs and while I didn't think I'd like the two tone, the one I almost bought was two tone and I really fell in love with it in the store. It was very hard to walk away from it. I may still pick one up later but I'm still trying to outfit the 938 right now with extra mags, just bought a White Hat Mini-Tuck (waiting impatiently for it to show up) and next will be a set of XS Big Dot Express sights. If not a 45 XDs for me, I've already got the wife looking hard at them in 9mm and I'm sure one of those will come home soon. I love the red front fiber optic sight!

The one kink of the 36 which seems to pop up on forums is a sporadic FTE and generally cured by going to a sharper and better shaped non-LCI extractor
