Bad news -- but there is hope (reply)

I know what you are going through: two days after my Dad passed, my wife, Babs, was diagnosed with Stage One invasive cancer of the right breast. A lumpectomy, surgical remodeling and radiation therapy took care of it. She is a survivor, cancer free for more than 18 months.

There is an excellent chance for light at the end of this tunnel. Stay strong for her; she will need you now more than ever.

Very glad it was caught early. A good friend of mine did not find out until it had reached stage IV two years ago. She is doing very well today, no sign of cancer left, but the treatment was very rough. Being caught early things should be much better.

Went through this in January with my wife. After several weeks of worry and one surgery it turns out it wasn't cancer.

The medical community goes after this hammer-and-tong - which is very, very good.

Glad they caught it early. The odds are greatly on your side in this fight.
Good Luck.

FYI That's a 22 year cancer free, two time breast cancer survivor with lymph involvement in that photo marching through the woods on trails she cut. Trust your doctors. It won't be pleasant, but you will wife will kick cancer's ass with your help. Last I heard odds are 1 in 9 women will experience it in their lifetime. The strides they have made in the last 20 years have been tremendous. The hospital and radiation center will have resources for support and information. Information is power when you are going through the cancer war. There's a lot of resources out there for cancer patients and their family. You're about to start sorting out what really is and what really isn't important in life. Good Luck.

That's tough news, indeed, Art. Since they caught it early there should not be any great difficulty in taking care of it. Still, that word CANCER tends to scare the snot out of us. We're in your corner on this one. Keep us informed, please.
