generic sense. i have stag grips, ivory, and beautiful wood grips, hard rubber grips, bone grips,. even pearl and yes, JADE grips..
i like their looks, but really prefer the rubber grips for serious shooting.

I like rubber Hogues, and shoot better with them than anything else.

So I've decided to quit trying to find the perfect wood grips and put Hogues on everything. I suspect my shooting will improve with the commonality.

i generally prefer them and can shoot most any revolver better with them instead of the alternatives. its not really about recoil as much as consistent and comfortable positioning of the hand, that doesnt change or shift from shot to shot.

now i am out of the closet and ready to be shamed

My first duty gun (Security Six) had the square butt Pachmyars like that. I came to kind of like them. One of these days I'm going to get a 4" 629, might put a grip like that one them.
