To be fair, the reflections off the background (reply)

make entire chunks of the gun disappear. Aside from the lock, the least appealing thing to me about the current S&W revolvers is the giant sized text they use in the barrel markings. My guess is that they are machined in by the CNC's, and that is why they are so large.

Anybody else think that thing looks like crap, or am I the only weird one here?

A 4 inch N-frame Smith with the tapered barrel used to be one of the most graceful and visually appealing creations of man. The new ones look like they were designed by a committee of congressional democrats.

Or worse yet, like a Taurus.

This one has been sitting on GB for a while now. According to the seller, there were only 225 made. His starting price of over $1000 is a bit optimistic. I'd say a nice .44 Special Smith is always worth $650 and up.

Smith 21-4 .44 special

One of these locally for what seems to be a decent price. I'm not a big .44 guy, but I'm thinking about picking it up. 4" nicked plated (listed as stainless) with rubber grips and factory box.

What's the going price on these N frames?
