Very in demand, around here, esp the "9"'s...backordered (reply)

In fact, it went right out to another local gun fiend this afternoon. He was gloating all the way out my shop door -- and I was gloating at another addition to my "Take Down Model 92. .357 lever action rifle" fund.]gunblast] Still keeping things utilitarian. Won't cause me on tear at a scrape on nick. but the mint 1894 .357 Marlin would be cause for grief at such a mishap. The old hammerless slid right back to home, into a pocket -- or belt loop for formal wear.

Also recently picked up a factory-new S&W flat-top AR15 for 700.00 "Nobody wants such a plain gun." ..... As far as I'm informed [not much], that's the price of a pretty good upper, alone. Heck, if I run 5000 rounds thru it, it'll need a new bbl and I'll need to build up another ammo stockpile. So..until then!

And I still have a spare 'built' lower...JIC, ya know?

John those Shields are in demand, you should be able to get (reply)

a quick sale at a good price. for it. My Xds is slightly smaller but a 45. The Shield actually feels a bit better to me, but doesn't seem to ride in my front pocket as well.

Sheild XDs etc mid sized autos: I LIKE em! (reply)

Rob, after my recent fo-round w/compact Nine trial, I agree that a compact NINE has a lot going for it. I just picked the wrong one for my accustomed grip and trigger habits. The XD may be where that 'X' crosses, for me ownse'f. I disliked the Shield simply because it's ergo-nom-icks didn't seem comfortable to me, A fine little popper, otherwise, tho, the trigger seemed a bit sketchy for consistent release. JMHO.

Presently, it's J's, but there is no denying the improved capabilities the little semi-auto offer. Next excursion -- I'll rent one at a local range and run a box thru it, before laying out green.

One of things that this agglomeration of folks offers. beside good folks, is genuine knowledge. Don't frequent many BBS anymore, but this one stays on the checklist __ thanks to all you contributors for sharing your life and knowledge. Nice ta have met ya.

My carry is an XD9C in a BladeTech OWB. Easy to conceal, not heavy and 13 rounds. I also like my PD but limited rounds and controllable 9 make the XD my choice.

Sheild XDs etc mid sized autos: I LIKE em!

They fill the bill during summer time IWB carry: I can't make em rust, the hide easily under a untucked shirt. They are more reliable than an Officer's ACP and slimmer.
They carry better in a waist holster, whether IWB or belt carry than a J frame. Js ride well in the pocket or ankle, but unless they have a 3" or longer barrel don't hide as well as they should. I find these little autos to be just right - about the size of a Colt 1903/08, Start PD (I still have a cople) or HKP7 but much more affordable. My sister in N. Cal can carry a G-19 with 10 round mags or a slimmer Shield...she carries the S&W Shield.I have't hung up my 1911s or N frames but I did put my J frames in the safe and tote and XDs in it's place. I like that these compact autos shoot more like a service auto than a 2" snub. it's easy to make 25 yard hits quickly.
