he had all but two variations...with some 30+/- guns on the wall...Levers pumps bolts semis black green brown nickle blue rifled and smooth bore...

so the remington 572 22 pumps were the ones i remembered,available in buckskin tan
[ coppery colored], crow black, and especially the 'teal green' one:

now i just have to resist the urge to START A QUEST to have a matched pair of the rifles and the handgunsin each color.

And I doubt the rifles 'count', since I was thinking about the Remington Nylon 66 in 'Mohawk' and 'Apache' attire.

In handguns, the various Hi Standards were probably best known in this country. I haven't seen one for a long time, but they used to be fairly common at gun shows.

Image searching turns up a few of them, but the most interesting data point I happened across was from this advertisement on Page 68 of the November 1957 issue of Guns magazine.

After finding this, I added 'dura-tone' to my search terms, but didn't really find much else.

In particular, no (vintage) .22 rifles in similar colors.

who made 22 rifles back in the 50s/60s that had anodized finishes? some friends [ two brothers whom i knew from civil air patrol and ham radio activities ] had these 22s, i beleive semi autos but could have been other actions, that were wood stocked but had receivers [ probably alloy] and barrels [ likely an alloy shroud with steel liner] that had funky space age colored finishes. i remember specifically a green one, and a blue one, and i think there was even a pinkish one. their dad was a pilot and he liked these and was collecting examples of them but we all got the shoot them and hunt squirrels etc with them

might have been high standard or possibly H&R....... or maybe i am losing it entirely.

any ideas ??
