I think the Surefires are better quality but we've been using about a dozen Streamlight TLRs since 2006/2007 or so with very few issues. Mine did go down and was very promptly replaced by Streamlight with no hassle.

Would like experience comments on products. I have been thinking about the Surefire X300 Ultra and the Streamlight TLR-1 HL. Don't know if a laser would add much since I could see the sights with the light.
