than 22 or 32. I wish there was some way to use these 25's for something as the prices are decent, the rifles are excellent shape 'n beautiful. The cost of converting it to something else is 'way out there'. Damn Shame.

The chamber was WAY larger in diameter than the barrel but I must admit that I could neither see down the bore to see the length of the current or former chamber nor did I have a way to measure the bore or chamber except with a ruler/tape measure. The hole for a .25 Stevens chamber is not big enough to drop a .32 RF cartridge into it. Huge difference twixt bore and chamber diameters.

A pristine .25 Stevens would have gotten my attention...

Oh, and the darn thing wasn't marked as to chambering!

Had a young lady come in to the militaria shop with an interesting rifle, a Stevens tip-up with the skeleton stock. It was in pretty good condition except for the bore in that 1. the bore was blocked with something that looked like a cleaning patch soaked in oil. I couldn't remove it because I don't have a rod at that shop. 2. the chamber looked to be .32 but the bore was .22... I don't think I've seen that. Lock up was pretty tight and it was pretty clean and otherwise functional. I suppose one could get the barrel lined but I don't know about the practicality (cost vs value).

Anyhoo, I was wondering if any of you had seen such (.32 chamber in a .22 barrel) and if so what you think it was used for. Blank firing perhaps? The gun was pretty clean, unusual for blank firing guns.
