FYI: Kleenbore 'Lead-Away' may be going away

Or it might even be 'gone' already: According to Midway, the cloth has been discontinued by Kleenbore.

Perhaps not a big deal, since there are other products like it on the market, but I find Kleenbore Lead-Away to be the 'best' for one application: The patches are 'perfect' for refinishing stainless guns.

After 'final' finishing with typical abrasives like Scotchbrite & Oil, a very light pass with one of the patches will lift the vast majority of clinging particles from the work surface and improve its appearance.

With just the right amount of light finger pressure, the patch will also help to smooth ('even-out') the finish without over-polishing it, resulting in a virtually 'perfect' match with factory polishing ('brushed' type). Under heavier pressure, Lead-Away can be used to polish stainless fairly brightly, if desired.

Other similar products that I have found tend to act more like the latter: Good for 'bright' polishing, not so much for smoothing out a 'brushed' stainless finish done by hand.

In any case, if you want any more Kleenbore Lead-Away for whatever purpose, now is probably the time to get it.

FWIW, I looked around a bit, and on eBay I found lots of 10 boxes of the patches (there are 25 patches/box; the listings can be somewhat vague on this point) at around $40 shipped, so that's what I got. Certain retail outlets listed them slightly lower, but I found none showing real-time stock status, so I just went with eBay.
