Only looks warm (reply)

It's probably in the 40's with a 10-15 mph wind that feels much colder. The Alaskan pacific coast islands never get warm, there's too much 35 degree seawater around. But they never get that cold either because there's too much 35 degree seawater around. And people do adjust to those temps - when I visited my brother and his family I had to wear a light coat to feel comfortable outside, my niece and nephews were in T-shirts and shorts. This was in June and temperatures were pretty much upper 50's and lower 60's.

Sitka Spruce. (reply)

Spruce trees from Sitka have some qualities that make them the choice for about 80% of the world's guitars. Except for some really high-end models, if it has a spruce top, it's from Sitka.

Sitka Barge (reply)

when the wife worked for a trucking company, they shipped a 40ft refer box loaded with ice cream weekly! cannot for the life of me figger out why they'd send ice cream to Alaska, but they did. I sent new cars to the Anchorage resident office via AML.
