And yeah, my Wilson tuned Springfield has a extended slide stop and thumb safety VERY 1990s...I have the replacement parts just need to get them on there.<img src="https://sixshootercommunity.com/forum/images/uploaded/20130424163545517809e1a9407.jpg" alt="[image]"  /></p>

<title>I agree Wilson's is a good book, but... (reply)</title>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If he still recommends holding the trigger back when releasing the slide on a 1911 to chamber a round from the magazine, that is one piece of 'professional advice' I disagree with.</p>
<p>Doing so might be 'good' for a trigger job − which is doubtful, if quality parts are used and the work is done right − but it will not endear anyone to their insurance agent.</p>
<p>It will also get the practioner thrown off more than one public range where basic safety rules are not only adhered to, but enforced.</p>
