At one time, our area was pretty good for gun prices, but lately we're seeing a lot of overpriced junk on the market. It seems to be spurred on by inflated internet auction prices. I've tried to explain to people that anybody can ask any price for a gun. You need to look at the few that are being sold, and the prices those are bringing. But no...

I would not pay more than $200 but I'm called "cheap" and overly critical. The boss has had one for a year just like the one you describe. He wants $350 for it. Still has it.

I would say $225 to $250, tops, for a post-64 with 4 extra holes in the receiver. Around here, anyway.

This one has 4 holes drilled in a straight line in the receiver. I've seen the one that you're describing, but this is definitely not the same mount.

IIRC, the B-Square uses existing screw holes in the receiver; the two receiver sight holes and the large headed screw that is really just a cover for the lever link pin. I put a scope mount on a Sears 101 (a rebranded 94), and didn't have drill any new holes in the receiver. $400.00 is about right these days. I traded a 70's era 94 for a S&W 14 a couple of years ago and the Smith is a $400-$450 gun.

A local pawn shop has a 1971-ish 1894 in 30-30 for $500.00. Since it has a B-Square side scope mount on it, with the attending holes in the receiver, I told them "no way". They came down to $400.00 instantly, but I'm still not certain it's worth even that. I'm left-handed, and wouldn't be able to use the scope anyway. Beside, scopes on 94 Winchesters are a specifically listed sin. What would the old girl be worth? I'm thinking #350.00 would be most generous on my part.
