"Firearms of the American West", Vol. 2, 1866-1894: A Review

"Firearms of the American West", Vol. 2, 1866-1894

First, I'd be surprised if it couldn't be had for less than the retail price of $75, but of course I could be wrong. (I don't think I paid anywhere near that much for my copy, but I could be wrong about that, too; it was a while ago.)

I only chose the University Press of Colorado site because they're the publisher.

They also have a good description of the book.

I haven't read many like it, so I'm no expert, but the way the authors use quotations from period sources makes it worth the price of admission all by itself.

Almost every paragraph contains or entirely consists of such quotes, and it's hard to get much closer to the action than that.

HTH

PS: I also had Vol. 1 (1803-1865), but I didn't keep it, mainly because the guns weren't as interesting to me.
