SIXGUNNER is correct. Often, inspiration comes from seeing a 'OLD MAN' doing something with great talent that drives younger men to try things.

And, I guess it depends on one's view about if this post is 'gun related' or not.

I'm sure if Custer were able to speak from the grave he'd have opinion about that.

Is it now an NFAA event?

In college we shot the old PAA target at the local indoor range. Of course we were shooting NAA (FITA) equipment meaning a recurve bow with a non-optical sight.

I still think archery is one of the most fun shooting sports, second only to IHMSA silhouette which is mostly dead now. But archery takes a tremendous amount of practice time. In college we shot 40-70 arrows at least 5 days a week.

I love archery, for a while my passion for archery far eclipsed my passion for sixguns, especially traditional archery.

I shot the State Indoor Championship yesterday in Morristown, TN, with my ole buddy Jim. Jim's a legend around these parts. Jim's a past three time National Barebow Champion. In his prime, nobody could beat him. He's blind in one eye, and had a stroke two years ago, yet he still managed to shoot a 270 out of 300. He once shot the last four ends at the Vegas Shoot, standing on one leg. He won by 50 points up on his nearest competitor.

He stills has fun at the "game"

If your wondering, I shot twelve points down from 300, not that great, but I had a good time.
