<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Always had a soft spot for Detonics myself.  Actually did some combat shooting with one I borrowed from a friend in the mid-80s.  It was a temperamental little bugger, but sure did shoot nice with loads it liked.</p>

<p>Seems to me that Detonics was ahead of the custom production 1911 curve by about 20 years.</p>

All those years of playing poker with my friends served me well that moment. I kept my poker face on, and didn't collapse on the floor laughing.</p>
