You can sell a long gun FTF in a state bordering yours, unless one or the other state forbids it. Federal law requires proof of age *and* state residency on handguns.

consult you state and local laws. Californians and some of the other more Regressive "Progressive" states forbid such trade between individuals.

Yep. Pistol too as far as federal law goes. Shipping is where the problem comes in for the individual to individual.

I can sell a rifle to someone Face to Face from across the state line?
Pretty sure its gotta go to an FFL but he says different.
