Buddy of mine who grew up in West Tennessee found a rusted Cooper DA revolver in his daddy's hog lot. Not US or Confederate issue, but some Yankee officers purchased them privately.

We figured some northern gentleman must of lost it when some of Bedford Forrest's boys shot him off his horse......

The lanyard is early "smart gun" technology, by which a Brit soldier can say "Give me that!" and retrieve his weapon with a smart yank on the lanyard.

It's a lot less complicated than the biometric schemes that have been advanced.

I think the lanyard is pretty neat, didn't realize militaries used these that much anymore.
