Single Seven 327
Looking at the Ruger Single seven 7 1/2". But comparing ballistics to 30 carbine I don't see an advantage. I took my 3 screw 30 carbine Blackhawk, with Herrett stocks, out today and was ringing a 6" plate at a 100 yards consistently. I can load an awful lot of 30 carbine for the cost of the Single Seven. Am I missing something other than an excuse to buy another gun?
A lot lighter and more compact gun. I really liked the 5.5"

Single Seven I shot at Raton. It will be easy packing but with plenty of power for a trail gun.

Anyway, all my Single-Sixes are turning out to be 5.5" guns. I am wondering just what the .327 will give me that the .32 H&R doesn't given how much I actually use the .32 H&R Single-Six.

I have and stick to my 30 C Blackhawks, or my 32/20's. I got all the fixin's for them. The new stuff doesn't have anything over them in way of performance. Its preference.

I have both along with several .32 magnums. The .30 carbine in a Blackhawk can easily outrun a .327 in a single six.
The single seven is quite a bit lighter, and smaller. When I pack a revolver around for small game a seldom will carry anything as heavy as my OM .30 carbine.
The .327 is a better revolver cartridge. The straight wall rimmed case loads like any other revolver cartridge. The .30 carbine is a little more picky. You have to worry with trimming cases for headspace, And bullet fit can be critical for proper functioning.
If I were new to 32's, I would probably like the 327

because it's a "normal" revolver cartridge and easier to load than 30C. I don't find a 7.5" BH heavy to carry so that platform would not be a concern to me.
