trying to remember why I bought this....oh, yes, it is an awesome powerful caliber and fast handling gun....good for anything in north America......and I bought it because... well, I bought it.
and yet I almost never carry anything but a lever gun..... need room on the racks here. these are rifles expensive. I got it in online auction, and it may have been fired, but it looks brand new. don't have the box. I never even shot it.
the wood is really excellent and not a mar on wood or metal

my pics don't do justice to the wood. the grain is beautiful and the color more mellow than these cell phone photos show

That was a good deal on a great gun.

but they are more rational than I - so far , and dont need a dozen different different rifles for hunting, a dozen more shotguns , etc. but hopefully they will see the light in the long run. they do like to shoot and hunt, and they do like firearms in general.

I've been thinning the herd for a couple of years. None of my four kids hunts and only one shoots. My wife's been after me to get rid of a bunch and I have managed to sell about 20% of the accumulation. BUT there are a lot to go.

One problem is that my interests didn't follow the market. SxS shotguns, particularly those with external hammers, are hard sells these days, as are pump shotguns and bolt action rifles with blued steel and walnut stocks. Martini actioned single shots don't exactly draw a crowd, either. And then there are blued steel and walnut single action revolvers (most of which I'm planning on hanging on to).

So, I'll enjoy as many as I can, continue to thin the herd slowly and leave my kids to clean up whatever's left.

Yep, my interests are not what sell in a changing market.
