S&W Model 17-3 and Cimmaron Model P .32-20 For Sale

by Remington40x @, SE PA, Tuesday, June 11, 2019, 20:03 (1752 days ago)

If any of you would be interested, I've listed my S&W Model 17-3 6 inch and my Cimmaron F.A. Model P .32-20 4-3/4 inch for sale on Gunbroker. Both of these are in very nice condition.

The listings may be found at https://www.gunbroker.com/item/817607517 (Model 17) and at https://www.gunbroker.com/item/817608059 (Cimmaron).

I'm trying to thin the herd down to a reasonable level and so am selling the guns I don't shoot much anymore.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or want photos of something I didn't include.

S&W Model 17-3 and Cimmaron Model P .32-20 For Sale

Thank you. I thought so, too.

If I didn't already have small frame Martinis in .22 (2 of them, including one engraved by Ken Hurst after he retired from the Colt Custom Shop), .22 Hornet, .218 Bee, .218 Mashburn Bee (which is currently listed for sale on the ASSRA web site), .223, .225 Winchester (not the one for sale, another, even nicer one) and .25-20, I'd have thought about holding on to it.

Actually, of the items posted for sale, I think the .225 Winchester Martini is the nicest. The wood isn't quite as exciting, but it's very well done. I thought seriously of keeping that one as well, but living in Pennsylvania, I don't have the opportunity to do the kind of high volume varmint shooting that would justify keeping two.

S&W Model 17-3 and Cimmaron Model P .32-20 For Sale

Would someone be kind enough to explain to me why a Cimmaron .32-20 would be receiving bids of 1/3 more than a high condition (albeit with aftermarket grips) S&W Model 17? See the two auctions listed in the initial post.

I cannot figure out Gunbroker bidders to save my life.

I'm having a similar experience with a couple of the Martini actions I listed. A nice .225 Winchester closed at $455, while the .22 Jet is up over $500 with almost a week left to go.

Clearly I have no idea whatsoever about the value of things these days.

Rant over. Thanks for listening.
